POCO X5 GT Receives the IMDA Certification In Singapore

In February, Xiaomi unveiled its latest mid-range smartphones, including the POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro. Now, it seems a new addition will join the lineup: the POCO X5 GT. The device recently has been registered in official records across various countries.

In Singapore, the device has been added to the registry of IMDA, the information communications, and media development administration, with the model number 23049PCD8G. Similarly, in India, a device with the model number 23049PCD8I has been registered with the Indian Bureau of Standards (BIS), indicating that the smartphone will soon be available for sale in the country.

The Poco X5 GT has also been spotted on the website of IMEI, suggesting that it could be a renamed version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo model.

Expected Specifications

Notable features of the phone include a 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD Plus resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm.

The POCO phone has storage options of up to 512GB and a maximum of 12GB of RAM. The camera setup is expected to be similar to the Redmi Note 12 Pro, with a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The front-facing camera is a 16MP punch-hole camera. The smartphone boasts a 5500mAh battery and 67 W fast charging.

In other news, the Xiaomi 11T and POCO F4 are now able to update to MIUI 14 based on Android 13, which is a new feature. As for the POCO X5 GT, a teaser is expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.

Xiaomi often releases phones with different names in different regions, such as the Poco X3 GT, which was launched in some countries under the name Redmi Note 10 Pro. Similarly, the Poco F4 GT was introduced in China as the Redmi K50 Gaming.
