A few months ago, Garmin launched the Garmin Instinct 2 Series under the smartwatch segment. It comprised the duo of Garmin Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S. Both models carry almost similar specifications with a little difference in some zones. Now, the company has released another Alpha update for the smartwatch series a few days before. It is the 2nd update to hit the devices in a week. The latest update (Alpha Version 9.11) brings some considerable changes, including the support for a compass lock feature. Users can now download the Alpha Version 9.11 for both editions.

Garmin Instinct 2 Series Welcomes Alpha Version 9.11 Update!
Garmin disclosed the Alpha Version 9.10 update for the instinct 2 Series wearables only a couple of days before releasing the latest Alpha update. The former update brought 11 changes in the algorithm. But Garmin proceeded to reveal another update only two days later. However, the latest update (Alpha version 9.11) brings fewer changes to the devices than its predecessor for some reasons. Also, it has to be seen why the company hasn’t released both updates in a larger update.
In terms of updates it mentions, the Alpha version 9.11 comes up with a compass lock feature with the reference point app. Further, it has also improved incident detection by alleviating false positives, as per officials. The latest update introduces WHR enhancements, this function needs Sensor Hub 20.05, although. Significantly, it also has fixed the prime bug that causes incorrect VO2 max categorization for multisport specifications.
