March 6, 2022, yesterday, a digital blogger, Ice Universe, leaked the news about the new launching processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2). According to the reports, the processor will launch in the second half of 2022. Also, the processor will be powered by the TSMC, which will consume less power than its predecessor.

Xiaomi Today learns that according to the naming rule of Qualcomm, we expect the company to launch the new processor with the name Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus. Next year the company will bring the Snapdragon 8 Gen2, which TSMC will manufacture.

The company is now cooperating with TSMC, as TSMC foundry has a higher yield rate than Samsung. Take the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus as an example, manufactured about 50K pieces in one quarter. This production is about 70% higher than that of Snapdragon 8 Gen1.
According to the leak, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus and Snapdragon 8 Gen2 are already handed over to TSMC for the upcoming smartphones in 2022. The company recently released the Snapdragon X70 5G processor, which integrates to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2.
The X70 is the best processor in terms of 5G connectivity, giving smartphones great flexibility and better performance. The processor is in the news and brings a lot of improvements to the smartphone world with the speed of 10Gbps download speed.
