Snapdragon 888 vs Kirin 9000: Chip Battle, Test and benchmark
At the Qualcomm Global Summit 2020, the Snapdragon 888 Exposed earlier this week. The flagship telephones from many producers next year with a significant proportion of Chinese will power by the 5 nm chip. The new Snapdragon 888 is part of the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 and Samsung Exynos 1080, the two 5nm Android chips revealed.
We know that our readers are concerned about which one of these three computer sets is better, but at the moment, the only way to measure these computer sets is on “paper.” We will equate Snapdragon 888 with the most efficient chipset, Kirin 9000, of Huawei for this article.

CPU
The first significant change between the 888 and the 9000 Snapdragon is the CPU setup. However, with the saving of four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, the rest is different, both processors are octa-centre chipset with the same 1+3+4 CPU core configuration.
The Kirin 9000 is the powerful Huawei chipset, but its core and three other output nuclei are Cortex A77 cores of the most recent generation. The Kirin 9000 has some Catching up in comparison to the central body of the other processor’s substances, even though all its roots are higher.
According to Arm, the performance of the Cortex-A78 is 20% higher than of the Cortex-A77, while the Cortex-X1 provides 30% performance gain over the Cortex-A77.
The Snapdragon 888 can take the lead when it comes to efficiency tasks. However, the Kirin 9000 could be quicker because of the higher clock speed in cores for tasks relegated to the performance cores (Cortex A55). The Snapdragon 888 is forecasted to be leading overall results.

Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)
Qualcomm may have won the category CPU, but when it comes to the GPU, Kirin 9000 is the winner. The Adreno 660 is supposed to improve performance by 35 per cent in contrast to the previous version, but Huawei says that it’s Mali G78 GPU is 52 per cent better than the last GPU of Qualcomm in the Snapdragon 865 Plus.
Indeed, benchmarks show the Kirin 9000’s GPU to be no joke. The Snapdragon 865 Plus Adreno 650, a score of 4,286 points, has achieved 6,261 issues in the GPU benchmark app, 3D Mark. We believe that the Adreno 660 will do much better, but we doubt that the Mali-G78 will outscore.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine
The new Hexagon 780 AI Engine with its 26 TOPS powerful features comes with the Snapdragon 888. The Kirin 9000 also has a solid tricorn NPU and is currently at the top of the AI benchmarking table. Qualcomm is yet to benchmark the processor, but the business of semiconductors is expecting significant gains.
Conclusion:
With the Kirin 9000 and the Snapdragon 888, mobile chipset space, particularly on the Android, is undoubtedly greatly improved. But they have their attributes, whose sum decides which of them is the greatest.
In terms of the CPU output the Snapdragon 888 wins, while the Kirin 9000 tends to be the best GPU- and AI capabilities. However, One more consideration like power consumption can consider while the
Kirin 9000 is already really good, as seen in our review video. Then we can’t tell which chipset is the apparent winner unless there is a detailed device-to-device analysis.
