GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X Brings a 240Hz Refresh Rate to a QHD Display at a Competitive Price
As we continue to see more powerful computer hardware, the demand for high-resolution, high framerate displays will also increase. GIGABYTE’s AORUS lineup, which is focused on delivering products based on impeccable quality and targeted to enthusiasts, has introduced a FI27Q-X gaming display. The monitor sports a 27-inch diagonal screen size, coupled with a QHD resolution and a generous 240Hz refresh rate.
To reach anywhere near those framerates at the aforementioned resolution, you’re going to have to be packing some serious hardware, such as an NVIDIA RTX 3080 or an AMD Radeon 6800 XT. The design of the GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X is very aggressive, so much so that from a fair distance, you’ll notice that this isn’t an ordinary display but one targeted to gamers. It sports a falcon-like shape, and the AORUS logo plus some illumination at the back can be seen in the images once the display is powered on.
You also get a healthy number of ports, ranging from two HDMI 2.0 interfaces, one DisplayPort 1.4 interface, as well as two USB 3.0 ports for connecting peripherals. A 240Hz refresh rate isn’t the only requirement when you need that competitive edge in esports titles. Response time is equally important, and the GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X delivers on that front with a 1ms response time.
The gaming monitor has also been calibrated to meet the requirements of content creators and creative professionals. While some would prefer an ultrawide display with a resolution going upwards of the 4K barrier, we think GIGABYTE did the right thing targeting both gamers and those that want to do some color-accurate work. The GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X covers 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color space, and it supports 10-bit colors. It is also HDR-certified, though it should be noted that the gaming monitor has a maximum brightness of 400 nits, not 1000 nits, as properly-certified HDR monitors.
With everything that you’re getting, the GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X should be quite expensive right? That figure is subjective because, at 6,999 Yuan, or approximately $1,062.71, there are much cheaper solutions available. Of course, they won’t provide this many features, but at the end of the day, some of you won’t require them. With the GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q-X, it manages to check a lot of boxes when targeting both gamers and creative professionals.
