I love how the robot vacuum has a minimalist design with a white circular body in both models – Dreame D9 vs Roborock S5 max. The Roborock S5 max has a sheen gloss to it. It is also available in black. There’s a dome top in both models which act as a pressure sensor to detect obstacles such as low hanging furniture. The Dreame D9 has three function buttons while Roborock S5 Max has two at the top of the robot vacuum. Dreame D9 weighs about 3800g. Both models have a similar charging stand. The charger stand is in white with a black infrared light-filtering mask at the front. There’s a charging contact piece in the middle. I did notice that the higher suction mode drains the battery faster. According to each mode, the noise varies. The Dreame D9 comes with a 570 ml dust cup and a 270 ml water tank. It has three levels of water flow for different types of floors which includes wooden, cement and tile floor. Dreame D9 can clean an area of up to 250 sq. m and it can cross obstacles up to 2 cm. If the Dreame D9 robot vacuum accidentally crashes into the wall, it redirects without leaving a dent. The Roborock S50 has a 460 ml dustbin and a 290 ml tank. There are four types of water levels, including no water, low, medium and high. However, you can control all this only with the app. I found that both robot vacuums do a great job in cleaning floors. Next, I gave the mopping function a try. They both did an awesome job mildly cleaning the floors. However, for stubborn stains, you’d require a manual mop. Thus, they’re great to use for the maintenance of your house.
