Chuwi Launches CoreBox Pro Mini PC with 10th-Gen Core i3-1005G1 CPU and 12GB RAM

The Chinese company has presented the Chuwi CoreBox Pro, a compact PC that adopts a concept similar to that of Intel’s NUC equipment, although it bets on a different design that is much more attractive. As we can see in the cover image, the chassis in which the Chuwi CoreBox Pro is integrated is two litres and has very sharp angular lines, and combines different shades of black to achieve a sober finish that is quite elegant. The new Chuwi CoreBox Pro offers the 10th generation Intel processor with the Core i3-1005G1. The opportunity for the brand to reuse a housing case with an original design.

At the hardware level, the Chuwi CoreBox Pro dispenses with the classic Intel Celeron chips; that are used in low-cost computers and opts for a solution that is much more powerful: the Intel Core i3-1005G1; based on the Ice Lake architecture and manufactured in 10 nm + process. The Intel Core i3-1005G1 has two cores and four threads at 1.2 GHz-3.4 GHz; normal and turbo mode. Its IPC is very high, and it has an integrated Intel UHD Gen11 GPU; capable of working without problems with 4K resolutions. Its TDP is 15 watts, which means it is a pretty cool and efficient chip.

The RAM memory amounts to 12 GB of LPDDR4 at 2,133 MHz, but we can expand it to 16 GB of LPDDR4; more than enough to face any work face with guarantees. For its part, the storage unit is of the PCI-E SSD type; has a capacity of 256 GB and reaches maximum speeds of 2,000 MB / s. If we put all this together, the conclusion we can draw is very simple; the Chuwi CoreBox Pro will offer a good level of performance in general office automation and in applications; that do not have a high dependence on the GPU, and also in those that do not require a high degree of parallelization (many threads at CPU level).

The rest of the specifications of the Chuwi CoreBox Pro are completed with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a Thunderbolt 3 connector, an HDMI output, a DisplayPort connector and four USB Type-A ports. It will be available in about a month and will be priced at $399; a reasonable figure considering everything it offers. Don’t miss the CoreBox! Subscribe to the email to get the discount price now!
