A month ago, the first Redmi router, Xiaomi’s “independent” brand, was certified in China. This new router arrived under the name of Redmi AX1800 and it was shown as imminently coming onto the market. Today the Chinese online store Tmall has mistakenly added it to the sale and it has been withdrawn from sale to the public. This has made us see its avant-garde design in which we will find a router that will go unnoticed in our home.
So we would be facing a new low-price router that will incorporate the latest WiFi 6 connectivity protocol. Its price is expected to be the one shown in the China Tmall online store, being 329 yuan (€ 42 / $ 46).
This model would seek to lower the price of the flagship model AX3600 of the Mi brand that was presented together with the Xiaomi Mi 10 and that is been sold worldwide with a price tag of just $125.99. This new router will be able to take advantage of the new Xiaomi Mi 10 and the new Redmi K30 Pro.
To cut specifications, Redmi will reduce its specifications, so we would be facing a router that would offer us the dual-band 802.11ax connection protocol with MU-MIMO and OFDMA support with a combined speed of about 1800 Mbps (2.4GHz and 5GHz).
This Redmi WiFi 6 AX1800 would be the best purchase option in most homes and would be a better purchase candidate than the routers that offer the best value for money within the Xiaomi and Redmi ecosystem, such as the Redmi AC2100 and Xiaomi Mi Router AC2100 that have the 802.11a / b / g / n / ac connection protocol, IEEE 802.3 / 3u / 3ab and go up to 2,033 Mbps.
It is expected that Redmi present it before being released to the market during this month of May.
