Android 10 update released for Xiaomi Mi A3 along with April patch, how well did it handle bugs?

All you should know about the latest Mi A3 Android 10 update

Xiaomi literally pulled Google’s Android One program from the dungeons and hoisted it for budget spenders to get a taste of what stock Android feels like when combined with great hardware. Xiaomi Mi A1 to date is seen by many as so far the best device among the Mi A series. However, the Mi A1 no doubt has its own flaws, but way better compared to what owners of Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite and Mi A3 are experiencing. Recently, the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 10 update was released, this time with the new April 2020 security patch. This isn’t the first Android 10 build for this device.

Android 10 update

Note that, this is the third build the device is receiving following the release of the first and second updates in late February and mid-March 2020, respectively. But even at the third attempt, Xiaomi just can’t resolve the bug issues.

BUGS IN #mia3 AFTER THE LATEST APRIL SECURITY PATCH ANDROID 10 UPDATE:
• EXCESSIVE BATTERY DRAIN
• RANDOM BOOTS

Pls fix it with the next update…

No bugs seem to have been solved. 1.33 GB + 1.33 GB wasted till now for Android 10. Fingerprint scanner issue still there. Camera lag still there. Only thing solved is that constant irritating notification that “can’t install update” , for people already on Android Q has gone.

The tweets above, clearly shows that the recent Mi A3 Android 10 update didn’t address most issues in the previous firmware. In addition, it’s likely that the update has also introduced some more issues of its own. This third attempt came after the company pushed a Pie-based build to the device with March patches for those who had not received the buggy Mi A3 Android 10 update. With this lot now able to update to Android 10, it’s quite frustrating to once again hear that the latest firmware is still buggy. More affected Mi A3 owners are also flooding Reddit and Mi forums (under the announcement post) to vent their anger at the company for releasing yet another buggy firmware.

After updating: over heating, finger sprint with screen off is still tricking to make it work, the shutter speed it’s still locked at 1.4s (when normal was 32seg).

I installed this update, but I don’t see any difference between this build and last build…

We went from 32s to 1/4s apparently, the main reason for using my MI A3 is photography and this is really annoying, specially when you pay 250$. (Guess its a waste)

There are numerous other issues that have been mentioned by different Mi A3 owners related to the latest update. Though, Xiaomi hasn’t made any official comments regarding these issues, likely because the devs are still monitoring the performance of the firmware on the first batch. With these reports, it’s likely that the latest Mi A3 Android 10 update may yet again be pulled, but this is just a clue. We will keep updating you on the developments on this topic. Meanwhile, fill us in on your experience after the latest April update on your Xiaomi Mi A3 via the comments section below.

Not again. We’ve already highlighted the issues that have been reported by users after the latest release. And now, one of our readers has shared with us a screenshot of their chat with the Mi support (dated today, i.e. April 10) wherein the representative says the update might have been pulled.

Due to some bug might be that update pulled back

We know that support may not always have a clear picture. So take this info with a grain of salt. But at the same time, a response like this, of course, raises concern. We’re looking for more information regarding this and will update accordingly.
