Chinese computer manufacturer Chuwi has added a new micro-PC to its product stack. Chuwi AeroBox plans to provide high-performance computing for the office and provide an “excellent” gaming experience.
Chuwi AeroBox has a universal design, which allows you to place the device horizontally or vertically. Chuwi did not specify the exact size of a small PC, but it obviously took up very little space: the manufacturer estimates that AeroBox is 60% smaller than traditional desktops.
Aesthetically speaking, Chuwi AeroBox looks very simple, but stylish, with black and white tones on the body. Chuwi has placed ventilation holes on both sides of the device to ensure sufficient air circulation, and there are two cooling fans in the mini-PC to provide active cooling for the components. The fan also has RGB lighting to add luster to the AeroBox.
Chuwi AeroBox is equipped with AMD’s A9-9820 APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). Because the chip is not listed on the AMD website, the chip is somewhat mysterious, and we only saw it appear once in the 3DMark benchmark test last year. The A9-9820 seems to have eight cores and eight threads running at 2.35 GHz. The processor relies on the Radeon R7 350 iGPU (up to 935 MHz refresh) to perform graphics tasks.
Chuwi AeroBox has four DDR3 memory slots, but Chuwi sells only 8GB DDR3 memory. By default, the micro PC has a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD, which has a continuous read and write speed of up to 500 MBps. Nevertheless, there is room for a single 2.5-inch drive to expand the overall storage capacity of AeroBox.
In terms of connectivity, Chuwi AeroBox has WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth coverage. You can also access the standard Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports and three 3.5 mm audio jacks. Unfortunately, video output can only be achieved through the DVI port, but this is not impossible with a DVI to HDMI converter or cable. AeroBox even provides PS2 keyboard and mouse ports for old timers.
