Samsung Galaxy Note 8 – Pressure Sensitive display

In the Galaxy Note 8, the pressure sensitive display will be used to “replace all the functionality of a home button and open a hidden menu with shortcuts to different features”.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 hasn’t been announced yet, but there have been a wealth of leaks and rumors, giving us a good idea of what to expect.

The next-generation smartphone will include an expansive 6.3-inch Infinity Display that curves around the body of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to feature a 6.3-inch Infinity AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 835 SoC (in the US) and Samsung’s Exynos 8895 SoC (worldwide) coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The new stylus is said to have a built-in motor that works with the Find My Mobile app to help you locate it, should you misplace it.

The latest leak suggests that the display could feature a Pressure Sensitive display. Just like 3D Touch on iPhones, and Force Touch on select MacBooks, the new technology will help Samsung eliminate the need to have a physical home button.

In a recent leak on Weibo and a Vietnamese tech website Samsungvn, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is shown to have eight colors. Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Orchid Gray or Violet, Coral Blue, Dark Blue, Deep Sea Blue, Pink, and Gold are the color schemes of the new Galaxy phone.

The Galaxy Note 8 will have a price tag well over $1,000, that’s about £771 converted.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is already a massive handset and the Note 8 is likely to have a similar design, so will it really be different enough overall to excite potential buyers?
