What happens when a smartphone is even cheaper than its native country? Maybe a ridiculous sale ending up with a new record. This is what happened to Xiaomi Redmi 4 (India).

Xiaomi Redmi 4 was launched in India along with Mi Router 3C with a price tag of 6999 INR (750 yuan), 49 yuan cheaper than the domestic price (799 yuan) in China. Keeping the fact in mind, that Indian market sale largest proportion consists of the budget-friendly and low-end phone. So, what will stop Xiaomi Redmi 4 (India) in creating a new record as the phone is a perfect low-ender which is even cheaper than China?

Today, Milwaukee International product director, @donovansung, announced:

Xiaomi Redmi 4 (India) sells 1 million units in India for 30 days, selling an average of 33,300 units a day.

The same enthusiasm by Xiaomi fans can be seen with the success of even high priced Redmi and Mi smartphones such as Mi 5, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, and so on.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian version of Redmi 4 is different than the domestic one. Instead of 5-inch 1080p screen, the Indian version integrates 5-inch 720p screen. Even the SoC is limited to the low-ranger Snapdragon 435 instead of the mid-ender Snapdragon 625. But the good part is the addition of exclusive version (4GB+64GB) apart from standard (2GB+16GB) and high version (3GB+32GB). The phone is available in two colors: Black and Gold, not Silver.

The similarities include the same metal chassis, rear fingerprint recognition, 4100mAh large battery (5V / 2A), 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera, dual band 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual SIM support or one SIM and Micro-SD card support on a hybrid slot.

India is eagerly waiting for latest premium Xiaomi phones such as Mi 6, Mi Note 2, and Mi Mix. If Redmi 4 was able to make a record of 1 million sales in 30 days, then what would we expect from Mi 6 and other flagship yet to arrive in India. We just have to wait and watch.
