Xiaomi Redmi 4A Launched For Rs. 5999 in India, Teases Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime
Xiaomi is on fire this year! First, the company broke all sales record by its Redmi Note 4 in India and now, the company has launched one of its most affordable smartphones, Xiaomi Redmi 4A. And the ‘affordable’ word doesn’t mean it is just like all the sub 6K Rs smartphones out there. No! The Redmi 4A is surely better than all of them and if you look at the features that are being offered at the dirt cheap price of Rs. 5999, you’ll know why we’re saying this.
XIAOMI REDMI 4A – EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW
Starting off with the display, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD panel with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Well, the phone is surely well built and has a compact form factor just like the Redmi 3S/3S Prime. Under the hood, it is having a Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4GHz. It is worth mentioning that it is a Quad-Core processor so the there is no compromise with the performance for sure. Coming to the memory, Xiaomi Redmi 4A has 2GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage. We know 16GB storage is nothing these days, so there is an option to expand the memory up to 256GB via external microSD card. Unfortunately, you have to compromise with the second SIM card in case you want to add micro SD card.
Just like other Xiaomi phones, the Redmi 4A has a huge 3,120 mAh battery, and we all know how insane is the battery life on Xiaomi smartphones, especially the budget ones. Since we are seeing the IR blaster in every budget smartphone from Xiaomi, the Redmi 4A isn’t an exception. Talking about the camera, it is packing a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and 5MP front-facing camera with the same f/2.2 aperture. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8. And yes, it supports LTE as well as VOLTE so if you are a Jio user, there is no need to worry. As mentioned above, the phone is priced at Rs. 5999 only, and it will be available from Mi.com as well as from Amazon from March 23rd. Initially, only two colors i.e., Drak Grey and Gold will be available on sale, but from April 6th, you can get the Rose Gold variant also from Mi.com.

Now, there is another special news for Indian Mi Fans. Xiaomi has set up another factory in India as there is already one being set up. So, there are now two Xiaomi Factories in India, and the company claims that it now manufactures one phone a second.
The vice president of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain, said in an interview –
The key for us was to start hitting one phone per second kind and we thought we will announce it only when we hit that number. Now we are hitting that consistently. We were already running at 100 per cent utilisation, but we were not able to meet the demand. Even today, with Redmi Note 4, we have sold 1 million units in 45 days, but probably if we had more stock we could have sold more phones.
He added –
We are growing at more than 100 per cent each year. But the biggest thing still holding us back is supply, and we’re trying to improve this. If you look at the past, with the Redmi 1S first sale we had 10,000 units, with Redmi 3S phones we had 90,000 units in the first sale. With Redmi Note 4, we had a quarter million units in the first sale. We said quarter million is an unimaginable number, but it went out of stock in ten minutes. So really demand is difficult for us to predict
Oh and by the way, the successor to Redmi 3S is coming soon! How soon? You are just gonna have to wait 🙂 pic.twitter.com/R3uxDRAqN5
