ZTE Axon Elite FLASH SALE with Snapdragon 810, NFC, Dual-Camera and Eye-Recognition
Plenty of new phones are coming out, but they are all rather expensive. Sometimes to get the best phone deal you have to look for an older model that has all the right features.
Meet the ZTE Axon Elite with Snapdragon 810, Eye-Recognition unlock, NFC, Dual-Camera, Hi-Fi Audio, Anti-Microbial Gorilla Glass 3 and Quick-Charge supported! WoW! Try saying all those features at once on a single breath, I bet you can’t 😀
All those features usually bear a hefty price tag, but not today, ZTE Axon Elite is now just 169.99$.
ZTE Axon Elite Review
The Axon Elite has a 5.5″ IPS full HD 1920 x 1080 display, rather than the QHD. Honestly, that’s a perfectly sharp resolution with 401 PPI, and QHD is largely overkill. There’s an anti-microbial coating for the germs phobic and it’s Gorilla Glass 3 for protection as well.
The phone is made of Boeing 737 grade magnesium aluminium alloy which unsurprisingly, makes it light and sturdy. Despite the 5.5-inch screen, the phone felt solid and had a reassuring weight to it (170gr.) and at no point was I worried about dropping and cracking its antimicrobial Gorilla Glass screen. Packing a powerful Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 which is still faster than Snapdragon 625 and 652!
ZTE Axon Elite Features and Camera
As you’d expect from a higher end phone, the Axon Elite has dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC and a GPS with GLONASS. . The phone has a very good 8MP front camera and a great Sony Exmor 13MP camera with secondary 2MP camera for depth-sensing effects (blurred backgrounds, aka bokeh, in photos). Packing an f/1.8 lens and a dual LED rear flash photos are natural looking, crisp and nicely balanced for exposure and color. Being able to shoot 4K Video is another highlight of the powerful combination between Snapdragon 810 and Sony’s Dual-Camera.
Having two lenses is quite a clever trick for producing sharp and clear pictures of objects at a distance. Not only are you able to switch lenses to magnify more distant subjects but it also means you dont have to resort to dreaded digital zooming which is often subject to pixellation.
Also in low light conditions, you are assured of a better quality photo as well as the ability to focus on different parts of an image after you have taken the picture. A really clever way of getting ahead in the game that is increasingly resorting to whistles and bells to reinvent its own offering.
Front camera is a 88 Degrees wide-angle enabling you to capture the best selfies.
Unlocking the phone with your Eyes!
Featuring a fingerptint scanner is nice, but being able to unlcok with your eyes is much cooler.
First up is ZTE’s eye scanning tech, which allows you to unlock the handset with not a pin, pattern or password, but your actual eyes. The ones on your face. It’s pretty cool. Setup is easy. Just head to the settings menu and the Axon Elite will quickly scan in your eyes – although you do have to hold the handset quite close to your face.
ZTE Axon Elite Battery life and Performance
The one thing the Axon Elite does have on its side is battery life. The 3,000mAh battery lasted 11h 45m in our continuous video playback test, with the screen set to 170cd/m2. While I might have expected a little more, considering the size of the battery, it does beat the Nexus 5X by around 90 minutes. It still can’t quite catch up with the Moto X Play’s 13h 08m, but the Axon Elite will certainly get you through the day.
Performance in gaming and everyday tasks is great as the Snapdragon 810 is still much faster than any mid-range offerings from both Snapdragon and mediatek, especially when it comes to gaming the Adreno 430 is still top 5Â GPU in mobile phones today!
ZTE Axon Elite is the perfect choice for gamers and camera lovers who are on a budget, but are looking for something premium.
