What started out like a wild rumor is turning out to be real, that is the existence of the Xiaomi Mi 6. By now, it is glaring that the Mi 6 is different from the Mi 5C which is rumored to launch on November 30 with a very decent price tag which has also leaked.
Now the latest rumor about the Mi 6 comes from Kevin Wang who is the IHS Research director in China. According to the well-known analyst, the Xiaomi Mi 6 would be the first domestic brand in China to pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset and the Mi 6 would go on sale in March next year. Earlier rumor had given the OPPO Find 9 same March launch with the Snapdragon 835 chip onboard as well. That may likely be just a wild rumor and we’ll rather stick with Mr Wang’s statement.
The analyst reaffirmed earlier rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S8 would be the first smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 flagship processor and that device is billed for unveiling during the MWC 2017 in February. The Mi 6 making it as the first Chinese phone with the powered chip would only mean Xiaomi is well on the way to find its way to the top of the chart in China. Hopefully the device would also feature the MIUI 9 which the company recently started developing. We also expect innovations in the camera, battery and other aspects.
