Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Goes Official: 5.7-inch Curved Display, Snapdragon 821 SoC

After many rumors and leaks, Xiaomi has finally taken wraps off the Mi Note 2; the flagship smartphone to compete with Samsung Galaxy S7, Huawei P9, and others. Let’s start off with the design and build of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 which seems pretty familiar, thanks to the Galaxy Note7. The Mi Note 2 comes with 3D glass both on the front and back, meaning the device is comfortable to hold in hands due to its curved design by nature.And for the frame, Xiaomi has decided to go with Aerospace grade 7 series aluminum giving it a solid look with a smooth finish.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Flexible OLED display with 77.2% screen to body ratio, 110% NTSC color gamut and 100,000:1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, it is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.3GHz Quad-Core processor with Adreno 530 GPU. The High-end Mi Note 2 comes with 6GB LPDDR4 dual channel RAM and 128GB UFS 2.0 storage. Just as you would expect, the Mi Note 2 runs on MIUI 8 which is the latest from Xiaomi.

In the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 packs a powerful 22.56-megapixel SONY IMX 318 sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and it can record UHD 4K videos with video image stabilization and for your selfies, the Mi Note 2 features an 8-megapixel IMX268 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Other features of the Mi Note 2 includes an Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor on the home button, AQSTIC HD Audio processor with Hi-Fi sound quality and low distortion (24 bit / 192KHz). Connectivity features include 4G LTE with support for 37 LTE global bands, WiFi 802.11 ac(2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC with fingerprint payments, SAP assisted GPS.

Pricing: The Mi Note 2 comes in Glacier Silver and Bright Black. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage is priced at 2799 Yuan ($413). The 6GB RAM Model with 128GB Storage costs you 3299 Yuan ($487). The Special Edition 6GB RAM model with 128GB storage that supports global 37 LTE bandwidths is priced at 3499 Yuan ($516). Xiaomi is yet to reveal the details of the availability of the device.
