OPPO R9S Confirmed to feature F1.7 Aperture Along with 16MP Front & Rear Camera

Ahead of the October 19 launch of the OPPO R9S, more and more leaks and teasers of the expected smartphone have continued to come out. The R9S’ camera have been positioned to be the main highlight of the device just the same way the R9 was projected by its fast charging technology.

Talking about the camera, OPPO has officially confirmed that along with the Sony IMX398 sensor, the R9S camera would use an f1.7 large aperture allowing more light of up to 34% through it, as against the usual f2.2 aperture that is common on most camera which stands at 19%. This feature had been the subject of earlier rumors but it is now confirmed and this aperture size is said to come in useful in dark or low light conditions as it increases the amount of light that passes through bringing brighter and clearer image with less noise.

In addition to the f1.7 aperture, the OPPO R9S had earlier been revealed to come with full-pixel dual-core auto focus which is said to accelerate focusing speed and provide more accuracy.

As earlier rumored, the OPPO R9S would sport 16MP camera at the rear and also at the front. We had already brought you a sample image said to be captured by the R9S’ camera and it comes crystal clear and sharp as can be seen above. Aside these wonderful features, the R9S is also said to feature Snapdragon 625 SoC, Gorilla Glass 5 along with a new antenna band design, 3100mAh battery with VOOC fast charging and other cool specs. Traditionally, OPPO’s devices are moderately price and we expect this one to carry an affordable price also.
