Design & Appearance
Talking about the design first, Thieye i60 molds with rugged plastic which allows the user to have a perfect grip on it without slipping and the characteristic of lightness. Still, that plastic embedment appears to be somewhat shoddy, but the rugged pattern on it saves the day by defining the product as a sports camera. We have three colors of i60 to select: Golden, Silver, and Black.
Like we said that Thieye i60 is almost a perfect clone of GoPro Hero, and the most clear-cut similarity can be seen with the design. But there are some differences. The first one is the at the front, only a lens with a Sony sensor CMOS 1/4 inches and the off button which also serves as a button to access different video modes and photo or even enter the camera settings
Screen & Display.
On the rear, we have a TFT LCD 1.5 inch screen with an excellent brightness level (perfect for outdoor games). Sadly, the screen isn’t capacitive, but it’s okay for that price. Since it’s a TFT screen don’t expect much from it, the actual picture quality is vivid on the external display (e.g., Monitor, TV or laptop). So, we instruct the users not to rely on the screen of Thieye i60.
Even the thick boundaries also limit the charm of the terminal. There was plenty of spacing between the edges and the display. They may have increased the screen size but still the pricing is the ultimate problem. We won’t be able to get a camera under $80. In addition to the screen, we also have LED that flashes while recording.
On the right side of the Thieye i60, if viewed from the rear of the TFT display, we can find two buttons to zoom or navigation through menus and configuration options as well as helping us to enable wireless network. At last, on the same side, we find the connectivity options which includes an HDMI port and Micro-USB port.
However, images and videos can be stored in a memory card (up to 32 GB, class 10). The camera is dependent on the card, as it has no internal storage memory. Make sure that you already have one or buy it.
Picture Quality and Formats
Have you ever thought of having a 4K video recording camera with that price? Well, as far as Thieye i60 is concerned, we are dealing with the camera that is capable of recording 4K videos at 25 fps. And under a good light, it makes perfect videos. Even at night, the quality is acceptable when compared to other cameras having no LED flash. Here’s a sample of Thieye i60:
The same goes for the pictures shot by i60, excellent in daylight and worst at night. The following shows a comparison of i60 with GoPro Hero:
The sound quality of the product is what which delights us. Mentioning the truth, it records audio which is hundred percent better than any low-cost camera on the market.
Sadly, the sound will diminish when attached to the hard plastic case to attach it to a selfie stick, helmet or any vehicle. We will have to attach it tightly as possible because there’s no anchor in the body. Here’s a video recording sample:
