Helio X20, MediaTek DecaCore Processor coming in April

Was Octa Core Processors “not enough”? Looks like “Not Enough” is the main theme for the development in the latest technology after the Xi Force conference held by MediaTek on the March 16 showed us the world’s first long awaited Deca core processor (yes you heard it right, its Deca Core!) – Helio X20. In supplement, Helio X25 “enhanced version” of Helio X20 was also released!

X20 uses ten core, tri cluster architecture, including two core Cortex A72 clocked at 2.3GHz, four core Cortex A53 clocked at 2GHz and four core Cortex A53 clocked at 1.4GHz, the GPU clocked at 780MHz to the Mali-T880MP4. X20  up to 32-megapixel single camera with 24fps and 25-megapixel with 30fps(dual camera support 13 MP + 13 MP), and support 10-bit colour depth, supports, 2k and 4k video recording display, fast charge QC 3.0. Also Helio X20 claims, with its tri cluster design technology, it will consume 30 percent less power than conventional dual cluster design and offer 15 percent more computational power than the competitors like Snapdragon 820.

Specifications wise, Helio X20 and X25 are same except the X25 CPU clock speeds up to 2.5 GHz for Cortex A72 and GPU clock speeds up to 850 MHz, and X20 clocks speeds up to 2.3 GHz and GPU clock speeds up to 780MHz, while overall system performance per watt, power consumption are all same.

Mobile is driving Innovation; Helio X20

Helio X20 series will include the cool features like SilkSwipe which is supposed to boost the touch screen response, Supporting low-power applications such as MP3 playback and speech enhancement, Imagiq ISP which supports both 3D camera sensors (including live Bokeh effect for video recording) and RWWB sensors (with greater light sensitivity than conventional RGB sensors), MiraVision CrystalView which delivers slick 120fps video for much better VR experience, and MiraVision Chameleon Display which adjusts the screen’s color temperature and brightness according to the phone’s surroundings (though a separate RGB light sensor is required).

Back at the MWC ’16 with MotoGP Champion Zorge Lorenzo, the ZOPO revealed the world’s first phone with 64 bit Deca Core flagship Zopo Speed 8  vailable for USD 299 and in the MediaTek’s Xi Force conference, Meizu CEO Bai YongXiang announced the premiere of MTK X25 Pro 6. The detailed specs of the Meizu’s Pro 6 are yet to be unveiled but earlier, Li Nan said that Pro 6 wont use 2k screen because of too much power consumption.

Update: Seems like Huawei is also joining the group of Deca Core phones with its Huawei Mate 8 and 6GB RAM in tow.

Both Helio X20 and X25 will be hitting the market next month.
