MIUI based on Android Marshmallow 6.0 will be arriving shortly

It was only a matter of time when an MIUI 7 theme based on Google’s Android Marshmallow 6.0 version was going to be released for Xiaomi devices and it looks like that could happen anytime soon. According to a source, the high end smartphones belonging to the manufacturer are going to receive the update, followed by the lesser performing smartphones. The Chinese media reports that Xiaomi Mi4, and the Note series, which comprise up of Mi Note and Mi Note Pro could be the very first devices to be updated to Android M, which will obviously result in improved performance all across the board.

However, it should be noted that each smartphone will require a different set of operations of the theme to become compatible with it so it is highly possible that previous generation smartphones are not going to see their operating system being updated to Android Marshmallow. What this also means is that Xiaomi Mi5 could be running Android M straight away when it is officially announced, which is going to be during the year 2016.

Xiaomi has stated that that one of the reasons why the company is purposely delaying the launch of the upcoming flagship is because it wants to ensure that the user experience will become completely upgraded. Perhaps this why it has taken them so long to release an MIUI 7 theme based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. The process is currently in beta testing phases, but it looks like we could be seeing an update from the company in the near future as we speak.
