Xiaomi had great success with the first Mi Air Purifier, so recently Xiaomi announced the Mi Air Purifier 2. Being a successor to the all popular predecessor, how well does the Mi Air Purifier 2 hold up to the previous model? We will have a review coming up very soon, so for now, let’s unbox the Mi Air Purifier 2 and see what comes in the box, and how the new device looks and feels.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 is very different to it’s predecessor in terms of it’s design. It’s overall volume is reduced by 40% while increasing 10% in performance which is a lot to say. The physical specs of the Mi Air Purifier 2 are again, very different, it is 420mm high, 240mm wide, and has a volume of 5.6 cubic centimeters, it weighs in at only 4.9KG which means the Mi Air Purifier 2 is easily manageable and movable.
The specs side of things get even more interesting : the Mi Air Purifer 2 uses a very unique fan design inspired from aircraft engines. That brings along a every sophisticated set of features like the Air Pressurization area stand mode purification performance CDAR of 330 cubic-meters/hour, decontamination area of 23.1-39 cubic-meters/hour, and a purification efficiency of 10.7.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 also has one high-quality filter, which is very efficient with three charcoal filters, it can filter 99.7% of PM2.5.
Because of the small size of the Mi Air Purifier 2, it is very power efficient, has improved acoustics and reduces overall noise by 11% (Around 30db in sleep mode or the power consumption is over 58%), and also has a companion smartphone app to control the device through your phone itself.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 goes on sale on November 27, with a price of 699 Yuan (Around $110 USD), and the replacement filters go on sale on the same day for 149 Yuan or 168 Yuan (Around $20 USD and $30USD).
