MediaTek MT6755 benchmarks emerge and they impress greatly

After the scores of Helio X20 emerged, the benchmarking details of the company’s MT6755, also known as Helio P10 have also come out. Before the benchmarking details are laid out in front of you, there is some information that you need to know about the chipset. First off, there are no Cortex-A57 cores running in MT6755, which will obviously result in a lower score, but it will also make it much more efficient as opposed to chips running these cores.

Also, MT6755 is running an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor at 2.0GHz, which means that it will perform less than MT6795, which is also known as Helio X10. Coming to the benchmarking results, MT6755 does not disappoint, even though there are some areas where it was expected that the chipset would perform better. For instance, in the single-core test of Geekbench, MT6755 is easily able to beat MT6752. However, the multi-core test displays a different story because MT6752 is able to beat MT6755, despite the fact that it is running an octa-core processor at 1.7GHz.

However, it is great to see that the chipset is able to come close to the performance of Helio X10, or MT6795, which is known for its raw power and is ranked only second after MT6797, or Helio X20. Coming to the performance differences between MT6755 and MT6795, you can clearly see in the image that while the latter easily overpowers the lesser performing chipset, MT6755 will clearly give it a run for its money.

In addition to showing impressive performance, MT6755 also provides support for a 21MP camera, and a maximum resolution render capability of 1080p. It will also have a Cat 6 LTE modem, which provides download speeds of 300Mbps, and upload speeds of 50Mbps. MT6755 is expected to be found in smartphones by the end of 2015.
