Xiaomi Mi4c packaging gets leaked one week ahead of launch
It would appear that Xiaomi’s next major handset release has been leaked once again, with the device’s packaging and information on its unveiling having been outed just this week. As it appears, the Xiaomi Mi4c will be launched at a press event on September 22, while the packaging does offer some hints at the device’s specifications.
The
Other rumored specs include a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU, the choice of 2 GB or 3 GB RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage, 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution for the display (441 ppi), a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone comes with a 3,000 mAh battery and ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
These specs are very similar to the earlier Xiaomi mi4, though the Mi4c has a larger storage option, and a slightly lower-quality front camera; the Mi4 came with an 8-megapixel front shooter. Battery size is also a bit smaller, as the Mi4’s battery is rated at 3,080 mAh. Still, the Mi4c does stand out for being Xiaomi’s first with USB Type C technology as a selling feature.
Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but reports claim that the Mi4c will be priced at 1,499 yuan, or $235 USD. That sounds like a fairly affordable price, and given its specs, that could make it a nice midrange competitor to similarly affordable Android devices such as the Moto G.
