Amazefit band officially announced to rival Mi Band in both price and appearance

With wearables becoming more and more affordable, Amazefit band has just been officially launched in order to rival the price ratio and feature enriched portfolio of Xiaomi MiBand. If consumers look at it closely enough, they will see that the device does not have a physical display, which would explain why it is so affordable in the first place. However, the most flexible thing about the wearable is that not only can it be attached to a watch, but it can also be used as a necklace, signifying its presence as a fashion statement as well.

According to a Chinese source, Amazfit band comprises up of all-ceramic, zirconia material known as ZrO2. In short, the device will exhibit excellent thermal conductivity, and it will also make Amazefit band extremely hard and durable. In fact, the material used to make the product is also used in making luxury watches, and is only second to sapphire in terms of hardness. The material is also used in aerospace manufacturing, and it is safe to say that Amazefit will run for a very long period of time.

It is also waterproof since it supports the IP68 certification. What this means is that the device can be submerged in water for a certain period of time and depth before it needs to be pulled out. However, consumers should keep in mind that this particular certification does not mean that they can use the wearable while it is submerged in water. While its battery capacity is just a 15mAh one, the company says that it can last up to 10 days, and also provides support for wireless charging.

There is also Bluetooth 4.0 chip present and the device can be used to monitor the user’s health by displaying the statistics on their smartphone. Amazefit band comes with a starting price of 299 Yuan, or $47 and will be available from September 17.
