Xiaomi Redmi Note 2- Budget powerhouse

A little while ago, before Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 was official, there were a slew of leaks and rumors regarding the device, including specification leaks from AnTuTu revealed some pretty high end hardware packing in the Redmi Note 2. The device seemed to be packing all the right hardware for a high end smartphone, but little did we know, the device is actually quite affordable. The Redmi Note 2 is aimed at those who want premium, but on a budget.

Let’s go over the kind of hardware that can be found inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. The device has a phablet sized, 5.5 Inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display with 401 Pixels per inch. As we’ve seen before, the Redmi Note 2 will be rocking Mediatek’s 64-Bit, Octa-core MT6795, otherwise known as the Mediatek Helio X10. This is one of Mediatek’s higher end Chipsets, which is quite rare to see in a budget smartphone. The Mediatek Helio X10 also comes with the PowerVR G6200 Graphics core.

The Redmi Note 2 is offered in 16GB and 32GB storage variants, with both models packing 2GB of RAM, but with the 16GB version having the Helio X10 clocked at 2.0GHz, and the 32GB version having the SoC clocked at it’s intended clock speed, at 2.2GHz.

A 13 Megapixel primary camera adorns the back side of the device, while the 5 Megapixel front-facing camera takes care of all the selfie lovers. And finally to wrap it all up, a 3060mAh battery is in place to power the device night and day.

In terms of pricing and availability, the device can be purchased for under $200, which is a steal. Places you can pick this up from include online retailers of Chinese mobiles. The device is now available from Xiaomi in more colors, and a price tag of 200$.
