Images Of USB Type-C Connector For OnePlus Two Leaked

OnePlus CEO Mr. Liu Zuohu declared yesterday on Chinese microblogging site Weibo that the upcoming second generation OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus Two, will come with an USB Type-C interface. That news, coming straight from the horse’s mouth understandably, got a lot of attention from the press. Now, images of a charging and data syncing cable ostensibly to be a part of the OnePlus Two package, has been leaked on the net, which indeed shows the USB Type-C connector at one end of it.

In addition to the latest reveal, sources have again confirmed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chip, giving credence to earlier reports. Although the final pricing is yet to be revealed, the CEO of OnePlus has already confirmed that it will be higher than last year’s OnePlus One. Mr. Zuohu even mentioned that 2,499 Yuan (around $600) may be a fair enough price for the device.

As a refresher for all, the company’s first generation flagship, the OnePlus One comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p panel and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 SoC. The phone comes with 3 GB RAM, and is offered in two storage variants – 16 GB and 64 GB. The rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor, while the front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor.

The phone originally shipped with Android 4.4 KitKat-based CyanogenMod 11S, but the company has since released its own Android Lollipop-based Oxygen OS, after an acrimonious split with Cyanogen Inc. The phone however can still be updated to CyanogenMod 12S, giving users the option of using either ROM with their device.

With the launch of the OnePlus Two, the company is said to launch its all-new Hydrogen OS for its users in China. The company is also said to launch a mid-ranger this year to have a presence in more price categories.

Here are the latest pictures of the cable that shows the presence of a USB Type-C interface on the OnePlus Two.
