Xiaomi Mi Note Bamboo Edition Price Reduced To 1,999 Yuan ($330)

The Xiaomi Mi Note was introduced back in January this year by Xiaomi along with its even more powerful cousin, the Mi Note Pro. The original release price of the standard edition in China was 1999 Yuan ($330), but in March, the company released a newer version with a rear cover made out of bamboo, which actually reduced the weight of the phone by 5 grams. This particular version was priced at 2,299 Yuan ($380).

Now, there are reports saying the price of the device has been reduced by 300 Yuan, right down to 1,999 Yuan, which is the original launch price of the standard edition of the Mi Note. The 1,999 Yuan price of course is for the 16 GB variant of the phone, and there’s no talk about the pricing for the 64 GB variant being reduced as for now.

The price however, is not for the unlocked version of the device. It is locked with China Unicom, and comes with support for its TD-LTE / FDD-LTE / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / GSM network, which is to say, the phone will support 2G / 3G / 4G connections of China Unicom. If you haven’t bought the device already, may be this is the time to take the plunge.

As a refresher, the Mi Note features a 5.7-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, giving it a 386 ppi pixel density. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass 3, and it runs Xiaomi’s MIUI 5 on top of Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 SoC, which comes with a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The device comes with 3 GB RAM and a choice of 16 GB and 64 GB storage. The smartphone has a 13 MP primary camera and a 4 MP secondary camera.

The Mi Note comes with a number of sensors including Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass and barometer. The battery is a non-removable 3000 mAh unit, and it supports fast charging.
