Xiaomi Redmi 4A Design
This is a regular Redmi handset with tried design. As it comes with a 5.-inch display, we can state a gold-size device perfect for single-hand operations. The matte texture of the back and the slightly rounded corners add a delicate feel. Shortly, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is great in terms of ergonomics.
There are three traditional touchable buttons below the screen with backlight. The main speaker along with the sensor and front camera are located above the screen.
The 3.5mm audio jack, infrared port and noise reduction microphone hole are placed on the top. Another microphone and a microUSB port are on the bottom. Finally, the volume rocker with its eternal companion, the power button are on the right hand side. The left side carries only the SIM card slot.
The back of the Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a traditional three-stage design, but there are no antenna ribbons. However, for better signal passability the rear panel is divided into three parts. The attachment edges are the place where the signal passes. Here we can find the back camera paired with a LED flash. As this is a low-end and cheap device, even do not dream to see a fingerprint scanner there.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A Performance
This entry-level smartphone is packed with a processor coming our way from Qualcomm. It’s the Snapdragon 425 quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz. The latter is paired with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in memory storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A scores 35.000 at AnTuTu and 660 at Geekbench’s single-core test / 1743 at multi-core test. This means it is very close to the MediaTek P10’s performance. Therefore, it is sufficient for a normal daily use.
Apart of this, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with dual-SIM support (LTE) and a 3120mAh battery, which doesn’t affect the phone’s weight (130 grams, only).
The phone runs on MIUI8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This software is very popular thanks to a list of new features including dual apps, photo privacy and so on.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A Camera
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, dark light quality enhancement technology support, HDR, panoramic mode, continuous shooting mode, facial recognition and Real-time filter. There is also a 5MP shooter on the front.
As you see the Xiaomi Redmi 4A sample photos are good but not perfect. However, the quality theu provide is quite acceptable if taking into account we are dealing with a low-end and cheap device.
The Final Words
This device has been made to make furor in the low-end niche. It did. Thanks to a traditional Redmi appearance and good specs list the Xiaomi Redmi 4A could win customers hearts. But what’s more important, the Redmi 4A is priced as low as possible. Agree 499 yuan ($75) is an unbelievable price for a good smartphone. We have already managed to review some models from this niche including the Uhans A101, Cubot Manito, Umi Diamond X, Leagoo M8, Amigoo R700 and other. But none of them can be compared to this handset. I guess this is the phone that will sell in millions.
