Xiaomi has hit the market in India with one of its sleek Redmi series smartphone, the Redmi 4A. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A made its debut in China towards the en of last year and it dropped with a bang. The device featured a premium body with a decent specs lineup and the icing on the cake was a price tag which was less than $100.
The device arrives India sporting the same premium design which is spot-on for a budget smartphone. The specifications did not change but what changed is that the price tag the device hits the India market with is a tad cheaper than what it is currently sold in China.
The Redmi 4A utilizes an all-metal body except for the upper and lower edges of the back casing which are covered with plastic material due to the antenna band running through those regions. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720p) and is powered by a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz. The processor is supplemented by a roomy 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. At the back, the phone features a 13MP sensor with PDAF, and up front, there is a 5MP shooter.
The Redmi 4A also doesn’t disappoint in the battery aspect, cramming a capable 3,120mAh battery under its hood. Providing the interface is the latest MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and on this one, you also get dual SIM / dual.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A will be sold exclusively on Amazon India and Mi.com, with a 5,999 Rupees price tag ($91). The smartphone is available in Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold colors but the Rose Gold variant is saved for later and would be available on April 6 during MiFanFestival exclusively on Mi.com. The Dark Grey and Gold variants would, however, go on sale on March 23 at 12PM.
