The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been launched at the right time. There was only one handset sporting a similar screen, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. As a result, Xiaomi got curved screens from LG. Those displays are sold at $150 each.
Moreover, this was one of the first devices moving the fingerprint scanner from rear to the front. Unfortunately, none of the company’s partners could provide a new technology allowing to put it under the glass. But Xiaomi brought a new trend to the market. The Home button was used for not only making various operations on it but also for unlocking the phone and making payments.
Before the launch of the Snapdragon 821, the most powerful mobile chip had been considered to be the Snapdragon 821. The Mi Note 2 comes with it. This CPU uses 14nm process node based on FinFET (Fin Field Effect Transistor). The Standard Edition Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also comes with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM (LPDDR4 + UFS 2.0). There is also a 4070mAh large capacity battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0. So it took 1 hour and 56 minutes to charge fully.

The 22.56MP camera of the phone comes with a 1/2.6um sensor size, 1 µm pixel size, and f/2.0 aperture. Plus, the focusing speed is 0.03 seconds only. Unfortunately, this camera doesn’t support OIS, but it comes with a three-axis EIS, which means all the anti-shake issues can be solved at the programming level.
