Xiaomi Mi 6 With Snapdragon 835 to Come on April 16

Since the Xiaomi Mi 5S / 5S Plus failyer we have been keeping waiting for the next-gen mi smartphone. Because no matter how many great handsets this manufacturer comes in with, we always look towards the original Mi series flagship. The last incredible device from this family was the Xiaomi Mi 5, and we hope the Mi 6 will have similar popularity. Some early leaks said the Mi 6 will be the first Chinese smartphone to sport a Snapdragon 835 otca-core processor at 10nm process technology. And as it was rumored, we have to wait for this beast in March. Unfortunately, its launch date was pushed back to April, which was unofficially confirmed recently. As for now, we have the exact launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 6. It’s April 16. Crossing fingers!

The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been rumored to come with Xiaomi’s own made Pinecone chip. It has been considered to be a game changer. But Xiaomir recently announced its first Surge S1 chip, and we learned it can be used only for mid-range devices. The Mi 6 should get the best SoC in the market. The Snapdragon 835 is the one at the moment. So, no matter how much we want to see Xiaomi’s in-house chip on a high-end device, this is not the case. On the other hand, there will be the highest version of the SND835 chip. Therefore, no reason to worry about.

As for the rest of features, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to be packed with a 5.2-inch display with 2.5D arc glass as well as ceramic body. Another great options of this handset is going to be the newest Sony imaging sensor found on the Xperia XZ Premium. It comes with a 1/3″ sensor size and the Motion Eye camera is capable of recording videos at 960fps.

Now when we know when this handset will be available, let’s take a peek at its pricing. There are a few price tags depending on memory combination. The 4GB + 32GB variant is priced at 1999 yuan ($289) and the 6GB + 128GB model comes at 2499 yuan ($362). But the latter also sport a ceramic housing. So the price tag is quite logic.

        1. I do, why not? I prefer in-house chip if it can make the phone cheaper with same performance.

          1. but… it’s cheaper enough already! Qualcomm is one of the biggest investor of Xiaomi through Qualcomm Ventures, that’s why they have Snapdragon SoC at the same time as big brands even when they were a smaller brand, it’s never been the same with other chinese manufacturers.
Those in-house SoC will be the replacement for MTK based phones
