It looks like the wait is finally over for the Indian fans out there as Xiaomi is sending invitations in the form of a poster to the media for a launch of a new Xiaomi product in New Dehli on January 19. Although the poster doesn’t feature the name of that product still, Xiaomi did mention it on social media that the mysterious device will be from the Redmi family.
So which smartphone it will be? We have a long list of Xiaomi smartphones waiting early to hit India which includes Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro. The majority believes that it will be either Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Pro. Redmi Note 4’s older brother was a great hit and the best selling smartphone in India. Will the younger brother conquer India’s smartphone market again this year? Meanwhile, Redmi Pro is Xiaomi’s first dual rear cameras flagship. It has an utterly distinctive look from the rest of Redmi family.
Unlike Redmi Note 3, Note 4 feels more premium with an entire unibody metal chassis. Though Redmi Note 4 has a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC and as Xiaomi is banned from selling MediaTek phones, the Indian version of Redmi Note 4 might come with a Snapdragon 652 as the heart of the flagship. Moreover, it integrates a 5.5-inch Full HD screen along with 2.5D curved glass. The rear camera is an updated Sony 13 megapixel sensor with PDAF and f2.0 aperture. Note 4 is powered by a massive 4100mAh battery and runs on MIUI 8.
