Second Bunch of Smartphones Getting MIUI8.2 OTA Update

MIUI8.2 stable version is currently being pushed to millions of Mi users. It should reach to 100 million users when all the planned models will get their own OTA update. However, the MIUI8.2 OTA update is pushed in bunches. The first bunch started getting it a week ago. Only 24 devices have been included in the list. Now Xiaomi has started pushing this update to the second bunch of phones. Keep on reading to learn whether your phone is included in the list.

This version of MIUI comes with a list of changes, improvements and bug fixes. First of all, this version brings a new desktop intelligence assistance. Thanks to large data analysis it is capable of providing more intelligent services. Say, you can swipe from the left side of the phone in order to quickly view traffic usage, book reading progress, bus subway and so on. Other than that, we know Xiaomi is cooperating with a few payment services in order to come in with a payment feature. WeChat is among them. But this is not the only patment system. Recently we learned the Xiaomi phone owners had been enabled to make bus payments via their handsets.

MIUI8.2 second bunch

Well, as you know, the first bunch of smartphones eligible to get MIUI8.2 update over the air or download it manually from the MIUI forum includes the following models:

As for the second bunch, it refers to the following models:

  • Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus.
  • Xiaomi Redmi 1S 3G / 4G,
  • Xiaomi Redmi 2A Standard Version.

The third bunch will come within a week, so it’s reasonable to get acquainted with the third bunch as well:
