MIUI 8 (Final Update) is Here With Split-screen Function; Xiaomi Mi 6 Missing

Today, Xiaomi officially released its recent update of MIUI 8. This is coming after several weeks of speculations. Theoretically, this should be the final update of MIUI 8 because we are already expecting the MIUI 9 sooner rather than later. This update contains a number of new features; however, the controversial split screen feature stands out. The recent update comes with

  • Simplified support for dual cards
  • Optimized sliding skateboard with the degree and sliding effect
  • Garbage cleanup empty folder cleanup capacity
  • Split-screen mode

Xiaomi MIUI 8 Update

The split screen function is coming rather late because, in recent times, it is more fun to watch a video and at the same time perform other tasks. This was not possible on MIUI at least till now. MIUI has explained that the split-screen mode is coming rather late because third party applications are not suitable and it wants to keep the MIUI system simple because split-screens are not easy to use.

However, after a period of testing, the split-screen feature is finally here and like the saying goes, “it’s better late than never”. To access the split-screen mode, simply click on “split-screen mode”.

I have been a strong follower of Android devices since the release of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Right now, Chinese tech completely fascinates me because they are probably the only manufacturers who tries to merge budget and specs.
