This device can be used for various purposes and it’s also very comfortable for travelers, who like to do their work on the go. On the other hand, the Martian A8 is designed in the way even capricious customers who take into account each detail will be satisfied of it. So let’s see what features it comes with and whether the price tag it is currently offered at corresponds them.
The Martian A8 sports a magnesium-aluminum alloy back which is sturdy and robust. Its silver colored finishing gives an additional charm to the laptop, though I can’t say Martian’s burning skull logo corresponds all the products they launch. It’s something specific and even if the company doesn’t want to change its logo, I guess they can work a little more to give some effects for better matching. However, let’s not deep into rebranding details, as we are not masters in this niche.
The right side of the Martian A8 carries an SD Card slot, a mini-HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, and an ethernet (RJ45) port, while the left side comes with a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone jack and a DC jack. The front facing camera is located above the display. I guess a 1.3 MP camera is enough for everyday video chats, because if you prefer more quality video calls you can use your smartphone, as they sport better rear camera nowadays.
Laptops should be portable, which means it should have such dimensions and weight that user can take it wherever they go. If a laptop is heavy or too big, it’s better to get a PC, because issues are easier to solve for PC rather than for laptops. As for the Martian A8, we have no reason to worry about a thing, because it comes at a dimension of 32.10 x 21.80 x 1.50 cm and weighs only 1.5 kg. This is not the lightest laptop we have reviewed (there is the CIVILTOP M651FB weighing only 1.473 kg), but it is still pretty nice to deal with such a device.
The keyboard is designed in the way that keys are at a desired distance to each other. They also have an acceptable height, which mean users won’t feel any inconvenience when typing. The touchpad is located on the center bottom part of the palm rest, and it looks a bit larger than we need.
Though this is not a design element, I have to say the 3.7V / 5700mAh battery is located on the back side of the laptop, where we’re used to see them. Honestly, it’s a very powerful battery that free you from frequently charging trouble and delivers 12 hours of standby time and 6 hours of video playing time.
Summarizing the Martian A8 design, we can say there are many elements making it to look like a MacBook clone. There are too many laptops similar to MacBook. Some of the, has about 99% similarity to Apple’s product. As for this laptop it sports only a few details from that list.
The Martian A8 sports a 13.3-inch IPS display, which comes our way at a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and 16:9 display ratio. This means you will see no problems when watching your favorite videos, playing your favorite games and just doing your daily works. I guess one of the key features that will help this product to put its name among others will be the Full HD screen.
Besides a great display this laptop also comes powered with an Intel Core i5-4210u 1.7GHz processor that can boost up to 2.7 GHz. It provides better performance and delivers plenty of power for multitasking and fueling casual games and movies thanks to 8GB DDR3 RAM and 128GB SSD. This is a bit older CPU launched back in 2014, though it has a 64 bit architecture that should be taken into account when installing an OS and other software (it comes with DOS) and 3MB SmartCache. Honestly, this is one of the most expensive parts of this laptop. So I guess we should mark it as the next key feature of the Martian A8.
Such a powerful CPU should have worthy mate. And it has – the Martian A8 is packed with an Intel HD Graphics 4400, which can effectively meet both home entertainment and business needs. It also provides better and faster performance than previous gen graphics of this family. There is a list of playable games for this graphics, so you can bookmark it to know what to play next.
No surprises in terms of connectivity, as the Martian A8 supports 802.11b/g/n wireless internet, WLAN/LAN and Bluetooth 4.0 as well. As I mentioned when describing its design, there is also a HDMI port that allows you to plug your laptop to larger screens and enjoy its content on big TV sets or something like that.
The Martian A8 package includes the laptop itself, one charger, one power cable and a detachable battery. Thus it’s a standard packaging, and there are no surprises. However, the Martian A8 is priced quite affordable, $629. But you can use the coupon (code: Martiani7) to get it for only $585.99.

As you see the only complaint refers to the design, but as we like to say design is a matter of taste, thus may be the silver edges, the magnesium-aluminum alloy and even the burning skull look quite attractive to you. As for the internals, the Martian A8 comes with a standard features list, which is enough to provide a great performance.
