Unlike other smartphones, you won’t get a phone cover, but the glass screen protector and earphones are something that not all companies have in their smartphone packaging. You also get a USB cable, power adapter and a detailed manual guide in English which is a standard packaging content for almost all gadgets on the market today.

Leagoo Alfa 2 Design

Leagoo Alfa 2 comes in 4 different colors: dark blue, marble white, champagne gold and brilliant pink.  The dimensions of the gadget are 143.6 x  72.6 x 7.5 mm and with the weight of 140 grams, the smartphone feels rather light in hand. Leagoo Alfa 2 is made of plastic which is a big change from the previous Leagoo Alfa series smartphone made from aluminum. Leagoo decided to go with the classic approach to the design of the front side with extreme simplicity, and that is always a plus point.

At the bottom of the phone, you can see the buttons that are common to all Android devices: the menu, home, and return button. The power and volume buttons are on the right side of the phone, with the earphone port being on the top. The USB port can be found at the bottom of the Leagoo Alfa 2.

One of the big surprises and something that makes Laegoo Alfa 2 unique is the backside of the device.  Leagoo decided to make a back touch panel which is an innovation in the smartphone world. You can smoothly slide your fingers on the elaborately designed back panel to scroll, take a picture or wake up the phone with a double tap. To enable the back touch function, you must go to settings and activate it.

From the Leagoo Alfa 2 back touch panel, you can take pictures with a long tap, awake the phone and quick start the application with a double tap. Sliding left or right scrolls through the interface main menu.

Display

Leagoo Alfa 2 features a 5-inch High-definition capacitive display with a 2.5D arc edged panel. The display is scratch resistant and has the multi-touch feature built-in. The 1280×720 screen resolution with 294 PPI  plays a significant role in the quality of the Leagoo Alfa 2 display. Colors are vivid and accurate, and the brightness is strong.  The phone has a wide looking angle which helps if you are looking at the display in sunlight. In the packaging of the device, you get one tempered glass screen protector that can help your screen display stay intact.

Hardware and Storage Capacity

When it comes to this smartphone’s hardware, the first thing you must know is that Leagoo Alfa 2 has 1 GB of RAM. The 16 GB of internal storage capacity is more than sufficient to store most files in the smartphone. If that is too low for you, then you can upgrade to 32 GB via MircoSD card. Leagoo Alfa 2 is powered by the MTK6580 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor which guarantees smooth operations. We played many games to see the performance of the phone, and the results were not disappointing at all. In games like the Dead Trigger and Angry Birds the experience was fluid and fun, without any chokes in the operating system.

As we can see in the image below, we’ve run the AnTuTu Benchmark performance test. The results were pretty good with the score of 24718 points.

Camera

Leagoo Alfa 2 has a fast and pretty respectable 13.0 Megapixel Sony lens back camera. With the additional flashlight and AF support, the pictures can only get better if you are taking them in low light conditions. The image resolution of the back camera is 2560 x 1920. Leagoo Alfa 2 can capture a decent level of detail and dynamic range with accurate white balance and good color representation thanks to the Sony lens.

In low light conditions, the Alfa 2 focuses well and produces photos that suffer from little noise. It takes less than 3 seconds to start the camera, whether from the home screen or the shortcut. The image resolution is 4128 x 3096 pixels while the video resolution is 1920 x 1080. When filming a video, the maximum number of frames per second is 30. You couldn’t ask for much more considering the price.

The Leagoo Alfa 2 has a lot of camera features:  Autofocus, Continuous shooting, Digital zoom, digital image stabilization, geotagging, panorama, HDR, ISO setting and exposure compensation.

The Leagoo Alfa 2 also has a decent front 5 Megapixels Sony lens camera. The front camera has an LED flashlight, and your phone can turn into a good selfie partner when you want to hang out with friends and capture the moment.

Operating System

Leagoo Alfa 2 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. We don’t know yet if the OS can be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so, for now, you must settle with 5.1 Lollipop.
